Project Overview
The MOSO NIL Exchange video was created through a unique partnership with the Missouri Southern Athletics Department. The goal was to clearly explain the purpose and value of the NIL Exchange to student athletes, supporters, and partners. Shadow + Light Creative met with the athletics leadership team to understand their needs, then developed the script and overall approach to support their message with clarity and confidence.
Cinematography & Techniques
The primary interview was filmed inside the MSSU men’s basketball locker room using a full lighting, camera, and teleprompter setup. This allowed the athletic director and assistant athletic director to deliver their message comfortably and consistently. The edit blends the interview with dynamic athletics B-roll footage to maintain energy and keep the focus on the athletes being supported. Athletics footage was provided by fellow Joplin filmmaker Matthew Ty Albright, whose work added scale and excitement to the piece.
Visual Storytelling
The video combines leadership voices with real moments from Missouri Southern athletics. The interview provides structure and explanation, while the B-roll shows the opportunities being created for student athletes. Together, they present the MOSO NIL Exchange as both practical and meaningful, grounded in real people and real programs.
The Final Result
The finished video delivers a clear and professional introduction to the MOSO NIL Exchange. It supports the athletics department’s goals while strengthening our ongoing relationship with Missouri Southern. The project reflects a collaborative process built on trust, shared vision, and respect for everyone involved.
